AHC Hardwood is Rainwater Construction Company’s longest customer relationship, with more than ninety project collaborations dating back to the 1950s. This most recent project involved two buildings: a 14,840-square-foot manufacturing space to replace a building that had reached the end of its life expectancy, and an 18,000-square-foot storage building that was destroyed in a fire. In addition to the two buildings, the scope of work also included a sound barrier wall to help reduce the noise impact that the manufacturing plant had on the neighboring community.
Construction of the 20’ tall by 168’ long sound barrier wall – a first for the Rainwater team – was completed on deadline despite complications created by a granite rock vein that had to be broken apart and removed to allow for the foundation and column piers.
The new construction utilized Butler® pre-engineered metal buildings, and the manufacturing building was constructed under strict timelines to be ready for the precision kiln equipment arriving from Finland. The kiln equipment also necessitated strict flatness requirements for the slab floor in this space. The Rainwater team completed both projects on schedule, with zero recordable safety incidents.
“Over the last seventy years, whenever we’ve needed a new building constructed, we’ve called Rainwater. With more than ninety collaborations under our belt, we know their capabilities and have complete faith in their ability to deliver the buildings we want, on time and on budget.”
