As the president of Rainwater Construction from 1991 to 2021, Ben Rainwater has overseen the successful completion of thousands of construction projects throughout the years, while maintaining the value system and company culture that has made Rainwater one of the most trusted business partners in Atlanta.

As a multi-generational family business, the role of president was passed on to Ben by his father, Cecil Rainwater, who founded the company in 1956. Ben began his career at Rainwater while still in high school as a summer steel crew worker. After graduating with a degree in business from Vanderbilt University in December, 1974, he went straight to work at the Rainwater offices in January 1975, and ever since has been fostering a company culture in which employees are treated like family and one’s word is more reliable than any contract.

When Ben decided it was time to retire from the day-to-day operations, he sought out a leadership team that would maintain this value system and carry the Rainwater name into another fifty years of integrity-forward operations. Just as Cecil remained involved in an advisory capacity when his son took over, Ben continues to remain a vital part of the Rainwater team, lending his expertise as a new generation carries on the Rainwater tradition.
